Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

The short version: Ambe does not store the messages you paste in. Your drafts are analysed and returned to you — we keep no message history, no logs, and we never sell your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Ambe ("Ambe", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Ambe mobile app and the website at getambe.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

Ambe is a tone-rewriting tool that helps you communicate more calmly in high-conflict situations. You can contact us at hello@getambe.com about anything in this Policy, including to exercise your privacy rights.

2. Information we collect

Message content you submit

When you use Ambe, you provide the draft message you want to check, optionally the message you are replying to, and the relationship context you select. This content is sent to our server and to our AI processing provider solely to generate your tone analysis and rewrites, which are returned to you.

We do not store or log your message content on our servers, and it is not used to train AI models. Message content is processed transiently to produce your result and is not retained by us afterwards.

Your name and optional sign-in

If you enter a first name, it is stored locally on your device to personalise your greeting. Signing in is optional. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a Google account identifier so we can recognise you across devices. You can use Ambe without signing in.

Subscription information

Subscriptions are purchased and processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed via our subscriptions provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status (such as active, trial, or expired) but not your full payment card details.

Technical and diagnostic data

We may collect limited technical information — such as app version, device type, and crash or error diagnostics — to keep the Service reliable and secure.

3. How we use your information

4. When we share information

We share information only with service providers who help us run Ambe, and only as needed:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

5. International processing

Ambe's providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

6. How long we keep information

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. This includes rights under the Australian Privacy Principles, the EU/UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To make a request, email hello@getambe.com. You may also complain to your local privacy regulator (in Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner).

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information — for example, our AI provider key is held only on our server and is never embedded in the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

9. Children

Ambe is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

A note on crisis situations: Ambe can surface crisis support resources, but it is not a crisis, counselling, or emergency service. If you or someone else may be in danger, contact your local emergency number (000 in Australia, 911 in the US) or a crisis line such as Lifeline 13 11 14 (Australia) or 988 (US).

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
