Terms of Use

Last updated: 11 July 2026

In plain terms: Ambe helps you rewrite messages more calmly. It's a communication aid — not legal, medical, or mental-health advice, and it can't guarantee how anyone responds. You're always the one who decides what to send.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Ambe mobile app and the website at getambe.com (together, the "Service"), provided by Ambe ("Ambe", "we", "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Ambe does

Ambe analyses a draft message you provide and suggests calmer, clearer rewrites using established de-escalation approaches. It is a writing and communication aid intended to help you express your own position more constructively.

2. Not professional advice

Ambe does not provide legal, medical, psychological, or other professional advice, and is not a substitute for a lawyer, mediator, counsellor, therapist, or emergency service. Do not rely on Ambe for decisions about legal matters (such as custody, family law, or disputes) or for mental-health or safety decisions. Always seek advice from a qualified professional where appropriate.

3. Suggestions only — you decide what to send

Ambe's outputs are suggestions. You are solely responsible for the messages you choose to send and for how you communicate with others. Ambe cannot and does not send messages for you, and it cannot prevent you from sending any message through your own apps. Where Ambe declines to produce a copyable rewrite (for example, for content it flags as a threat), that is a limit on what the app itself will generate — it is not a control over your device or your other applications.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using Ambe, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

5. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

7. Your content

You keep all rights to the message content you submit. You grant us a limited, temporary licence to process that content solely to provide the Service to you (see our Privacy Policy). We do not claim ownership of your messages.

8. Our content and brand

The Service, including the Ambe name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from it except as allowed by these Terms or by law.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Apple, Google, and our AI provider. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its suggestions will produce any particular outcome.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ambe will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights you may have that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
